The answer is that, in the past, I would get desperately hungry at about 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon. To stop the desperation, I would just grab whatever was close at hand. Often the choices I made were not the best for my health.
In addition, after dinner, I would have a craving for something sweet to finish the meal. Once again, I would often make bad choices, eating something loaded with sugar.
So, I began searching the shelves at the local health food stores. I found many seemingly good products…until I read the labels. Most, if not all, of these snacks had added sweeteners. Many of the products I found were sweetened with agave, which is one of the worst because it is so high in fructose (up to 90%)!
I have a PhD in chemistry, and I also enjoy cooking as a hobby. So, I thought that I would put my education and my hobby together to create a snack that is both nutritionally wholesome and has a great taste.
With my knowledge of chemistry I was able to analyze ingredients nutritionally, and with my knowledge of cooking, I was able to select ingredients that would blend well and taste good together.
So I set about that task in my kitchen using ingredients that were available locally. I decided to limit the recipe to a few, simple ingredients. The food I was seeking needed to have an immediate beneficial effect and a longer-term sustained energy. And of course, it needed to taste good.
After a great deal of experimentation over several years and with trying many ingredients, I finally achieved my goal of great nutrition and great taste.
So my snacking problems were solved. I found that just two or three of my little creations satisfied my hunger in the afternoon and also, a like number, satisfied my after-meal craving in the evening.
The snack that I had created worked well for me, so I shared it with my family and friends. They all loved it as well. That encouraged me to share my creation with a wider audience.
And thus, Ambiance™ C o n f e c t i o n s was born.
The next step in the process was to find the absolute finest ingredients available (not just those from my local stores). Therefore, I literally searched the world over (via the Internet) to find the finest example of each of the ingredients. That process required many additional months of research and trial and error, trying samples until I found the very best for each ingredient.
All of the ingredients that I found are organic and all are raw. In addition, several are wild crafted and several are produced using fair trade methods.
